WH?

Lucas said his first "WH" question last week!

I cannot express to you the joy in that one little phrase!

You don't even realize it's missing....until someone, usually a therapist, brings up "wh" questions...and how they are planning to work on them....that he doesn't have them yet....and it occurs to you..."Huh...they're right…"

No, "What's for dinner mom?" or "When are we leaving for Gramma's?"

No "Why do I have to go?", "Who is coming to play?" or "Where is my sister?" (Not that it's likely he'd ever be looking for her!) :-)

I was calling him to come upstairs and get ready for bed - and he comes to the bottom of the stairs, looks up at me and says, "What do you want?!" Then the sweetest, most lovely grin ever!

I swear...when he does that...I could be convinced this whole autism thing is just a ruse! He knows exactly what he's doing...what I want him to say....and is just not because...because why?

I wish I knew - because this guessing thing is getting old!
